Learn More About Our
Transitional Pet Care Program
The Long-Term Transitional Pet Care Program is established to aid older adults, disabled citizens, and senior pets of the service area. It helps pet owners to maintain their companion animals in their homes by providing where needed, food, medicines, and resources. The first and foremost goal is to keep these animals in their homes if possible.
These services will be provided, with the facilitation of SCAS & Hope West staff, when and if possible. Hope West, a non-profit organization in Delta County, providing hospice care, palliative care, and grief support, has partnered with the Shelter in this program. Through Hope West & SCAS staff and volunteers, individuals and pets in need of aid and care will be identified and referred to the program for help and the two organizations will cooperate in providing the aid and care for the owners and animals involved. If you know of someone needing support, please fill out a Pet Profile listed below and someone will reach out for follow up.
